Being an artist makes me feel…
Happy. To spend all day in the studio, blocking out everything except the joy of composing a landscape or a floral featuring my favorite sunflowers, makes for a perfect day in my book!

My artistic journey
After following several career paths simultaneously — wife, mother of three and relocation specialist for a national real estate company — in midlife, I took action on a long-smoldering desire to try my hand at creating art. For more than 14 years, my path of self-discovery has included training from several excellent art instructors and the opportunity to be a partner in Garage Gallery & Studio. I paint for myself, except for the times I take on a commission.

I’m primarily a landscape painter because there is something mesmerizing about the open prairie meeting a stormy blue-black sky at the horizon line, or the patchwork quilt of the aspen groves in the fall. I breathe in the vastness and the power and can’t wait
to translate it to canvas.
